MACBETH
1. Macbeth tells his wife "We shall proceed no further in this business" when she tries to encourage him to kill King Duncan. Write a diary entry from Macbeth's point of view where you explain what has happened tonight - the party at your castle, Duncan's arrival, the food and drink, dancing and music etc
Then - write about what Lady Macbeth asks of you. Explain what she says and why you say no.
2. Macbeth says the only reason he would have to murder King Duncan is "vaulting ambition". What do you think ambition is? Discuss and explain in detail.
What is your ambition? Write a detailed essay explaining what you dream of doing with your life and why you want to do it. What do you need to do to make it happen? What will it add to your life if you achieve your ambition? What things might get in the way of you achieving your ambition?
3. Write a letter as Lady Macbeth to your husband Macbeth. You need to convince him to agree to kill King Duncan. What do you say? What can you offer him that might make him agree?
You will need to argue against all the reasons that Macbeth gives for NOT wanting to kill King Duncan - remember, these are all in a table in your exercise books.
